About The Song
“Let It Be” is a song by the English rock band The Beatles, released on 6 March 1970 as a single, and (in an alternative mix) as the title track of their album Let It Be. The song was written and sung by Paul McCartney, and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The lyrics of the song are about finding comfort in times of trouble and letting things be. The song has been covered by many artists and has become one of the most popular songs of all time. The song was also used as the title of the Beatles’ final studio album, which was released on 8 May 1970, almost a month after the group’s public break-up, in tandem with the documentary of the same name. The album was produced by Phil Spector and features a mix of original songs and covers.
Lyrics
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be
And when the broken-hearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer
Let it be
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Yeah, there will be an answer
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be
And when the night is cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow
Let it be
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer
Let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be
